The Shure BETA 181/O is an ultra-compact, side-address small-diaphragm condenser microphone fitted with an omnidirectional capsule — designed for applications where equal sensitivity in all directions is essential. Part of the modular BETA 181 system, the 181/O delivers the BETA series' hallmark low noise, extended frequency response, and high SPL handling in a remarkably small form factor.

The omnidirectional polar pattern captures sound equally from all directions without proximity effect, making it ideal for room ambience, ensemble recording, choral miking, and acoustic measurement applications where a natural, uncoloured representation of the acoustic space is required.
