A different way to buy a great guitar.
Guitar Gallery is a specialist boutique music store based in Lonehill, Johannesburg. Guitars are at the heart of what we do, with a carefully selected range of acoustic and electric guitars, basses and other stringed instruments, complemented by professional recording, live sound and music gear.
We believe choosing a great instrument should be an experience, not simply a transaction.
That’s why we do things a little differently. Rather than a traditional high-volume retail environment, Guitar Gallery offers private, one-on-one viewings by appointment. You have the time and space to play, compare and experience different instruments in a relaxed setting, with knowledgeable and honest advice available when you need it.
Our approach is consultative. We take the time to understand how you play, what you’re looking for and what matters to you. Sometimes the guitar you arrive wanting to buy isn’t the one you leave loving. Our role isn’t simply to sell you an instrument — it’s to help you experience the differences and find the one that’s right for you.
We believe a great instrument should perform at its best from the moment you pick it up.
That’s why our instruments are carefully inspected and prepared to ensure optimum tone, playability and quality before they reach our customers. Where necessary, adjustments and professional setup work are carried out by experienced technicians.
It’s an important part of the Guitar Gallery experience. Whether you’re choosing your first quality guitar or adding an exceptional instrument to a collection, we want you to experience it as it was meant to be played.
Guitar Gallery is run by Stephan and Neil, with a shared passion for great instruments, great sound and helping musicians make informed choices.
Our expertise also extends beyond the instruments themselves. Neil is an experienced recording specialist with his own recording studio and brings practical knowledge of recording equipment, microphones, PA and live sound. This enables us to help musicians, studios, churches and other organisations find solutions that work for their particular needs.
We believe specialist knowledge and personal service matter. You’re welcome to spend time with us, compare options and ask as many questions as you like. There’s never any pressure or obligation to buy.
If you’re in Johannesburg, we’d love to welcome you for a private viewing at Guitar Gallery in Lonehill.
If you’re further away, we can bring the experience to you through a live, interactive online demonstration, using professional studio equipment so you can see, hear and compare instruments in detail.
Wherever you are, our philosophy remains the same:
Great instruments. Specialist knowledge. Personal service. And the time to find what’s right for you.
