Jose Ramirez 1974 Concert Classical Guitar Specifications:

  • Materials:  Cedar Sound board, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Spanish Cedar neck, Ebony fingerboard, Scale 664mm.
  • Compensation: 1'st String 665mm, 6'th string 666mm
  • Nut Width: 53.7mm
  • String Spread: At nut 45mm, At bridge 57mm
  • Action Settings: At 1'st fret 0.5mm for 1'st string and 0.6mm stor 6'th string.  At 12'th fret 3.0mm for 1'st string and 5.0mm for 6'th string.
  • Structural
    • Soundboard fan strutting and harmonic bars - all good
    • Dome of the top - Good but needs humidifications, show signs of very dryness (currently being humidified at Relative Humidity of 50%)
    • Dome of the back - Perfect
    • Neck joint - All Good
    • Scarf Joint - All Good
    • Cracks in the top - None
    • Cracks in back - One crack in lower bout treble side well repaired
    • Cracks in the side - None (double sides, Cypress inside)
    • Binding and purfling - All good
    • Fingerboard - All good, no wear
    • Frets - All good, no wear
    • Frets - All good, no wear
    • Nut - Bone, all good but not glued
    • Saddle - Bone, all good and stable, thin spacer under saddle to raise action
    • Bridge - Brazilian rosewood, tie block and string holes all good, glue joint perfect.
  • Wear and Tear
    • Neck - none
    • Soundboard - no wear, 1 minute ding size of pencil point, near flawless
    • Sides - no wear, near flawless
    • Back - no wear, near flawless, crack repair hardly visible
    • Head - Face of head flawless
    • Lacquer finish - very good condition, some shrinking into rosewood visible
  • Tuning Machines
    • Tuning machines functional but not good
  • Acoustics
    • Intonation slightly shard at 12'th fret of G string, E and B Good, D, A, and E slightly sharp.  Sound of open strings - clear, nut grooves perfect.
    • Buzzes - None
    • All notes ring well, no wolf tones
  • General
    • This guitar has been well taken card o and is in an immaculate condition.  We can strongly recommend this guitar to the potential buyer.  Adjustment to lower action limited.
