The Gibson Hummingbird Original Heritage Cherry Sunburst with Baggs HiFi DNA combines the iconic square shoulder acoustic design with modern amplification technology. Its Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, Rounded mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard preserve the Hummingbird’s classic character, while vintage-inspired appointments complete its unmistakable look.
Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing supports the Sitka spruce top for a responsive acoustic voice across different playing styles. The Rounded mahogany neck joins the body with a compound dovetail joint, and the rosewood fingerboard features mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, 20 standard frets and a 12-inch radius. A 24.75-inch scale length provides a familiar playing feel for strumming, picking and songwriting.
The Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system uses dual bridge-plate sensors, each paired with its own custom-voiced Class A studio-quality preamp. It captures natural string detail, body resonance, warmth and dynamic response, with gain-before-feedback comparable to under-saddle pickup systems. Soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls offer quick adjustments while remaining discreet during performance.
Gold Gotoh Keystone tuners, a bone nut and saddle, and a traditional belly-up rosewood bridge with TUSQ bridge pins complement the Hummingbird’s Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish. Multi-ply top and back binding, gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, the distinctive .060-inch Hummingbird pickguard and a Hummingbird truss rod cover complete the design. A hardshell case is included.
