The Touchstone Series is designed to deliver legendary Bourgeois tone and build quality to a wider range of players than ever before. For decades the Country Boy has been a workhorse of the Bourgeois line, a go-to guitar for both professional and aspiring artists. Built to inspire, the Bourgeois Country Boy/TS advances the legacy of its predecessor, featuring Genuine Mahogany back and sides and an old-growth Sitka Spruce top, selected and hand voiced by Dana Bourgeois and his Lewiston, Maine team.

Introducing the Bourgeois Touchstone series, a collection of hand-voiced guitars designed by Dana Bourgeois. These guitars are crafted with Bourgeois’ signature attention-to-detail, bringing his legendary tone and craftsmanship to more players than ever before.

Drawing on his half-century of experience as a luthier, Dana and his team carefully select each old-growth Alaskan Sitka Spruce soundboard by hand before bracing it with Adirondack Spruce harvested from deep in northern forests of Maine.

The magic of the Touchstone Series comes from Dana’s renown system of hand-voicing. Over the last 50 years he has refined this old-world technique and is now recognized worldwide as a foremost authority on guitar-top voicing.

Dana’s method of tap-tuning optimizes the latent musicality hidden within the fibers of the world’s finest tonewoods.  On any given day you will find Dana and his team carefully sculpting and listening to every top, back, and brace—working to maximize the sonic potential of each of his instruments.

The Touchstone series is a collaboration between Bourgeois Guitars and Eastman Music Company. After Touchstone tops are approved by Dana, they are vacuum sealed and shipped to Eastman’s workshop where a select group of Eastman’s finest luthiers, carefully trained in Bourgeois’ tonal philosophy and construction methodology integrates the tops into Dana’s designs, bringing each guitar to life.
