Akio Naniki Yamaha GC-71 Grand Concert Specifications:

  • Materials:  Spruce Soundboard, Jacaranda back and sides, Honduras Mahogany neck, Ebony Fingerboard, Scale 650mm.
  • Compensation: 1st String 650.5mm, 6th string 651mm
  • Nut Width: 52.5mm
  • String Spread: At nut 42mm, At bridge 59mm
  • Action Settings: At 1'st fret 0.7mm for 1'st string and 0.7mm stor 6'th string.  At 12'th fret 4.0mm for 1'st string and 4.5mm for 6'th string.
  • Structural
    • Soundboard fan strutting and harmonic bars - all good
    • Dome of the top - Good but needs humidification, show signs of very dryness
    • Back braces - All good
    • Dome of the back - Perfect
    • Neck joint - All Good
    • Scarf Joint - All Good
    • Cracks in the top - None, but the centreline joint behind bridge has opened slightly.
    • Cracks in back - None
    • Cracks in the side - None
    • Binding and purfling - All good
    • Fingerboard - All good no wear
    • Frets - All good - No wear
    • Frets - All good, no wear
    • Nut - Bone, all good but not glued
    • Saddle - Bone, all good and stable and compensation for G string
    • Bridge - Rosewood, tie block and string holes all good, glue joint perfect.
  • Wear and tear
    • Neck - none
    • Soundboard - Edge of soundhole at E string finish worn of, minor scratches from playing and making behind bridge from changing strings.
    • Sides - no wear, insignificant minor scratches, binding upper bout bass side finish worn off
    • Back - no wear, near flawless.
    • Head - Face of head flawless
    • French Polish - Good, considering the age of the guitar.
  • Tuning Machines
    • Still functions good
  • Acoustics
    • Intonation slightly shard at 12'th 
    • Buzzes - None
    • All notes ring well, no wolf tones
  • General
    • This guitar has been well taken care off and is in very good condition.  We can strongly recommend this guitar to the potential buyer.  Adjustment to lower action limited.
